Daily Announcements 09/25/2024

College Go Week: All week if seniors apply to a college they can bring proof to student services to receive a ticket for a drawing to win a prize at the end of the week. Also, all week students can decorate their lockers with either college or career themes and the winning locker will receive a prize. Lockers need to be decorated by 8 AM on Friday 9/27.

Our Fall Sports Spirit week is from September 30-October 4. Here are the dress-up days for that week.

Archery sign up forms are in the high school office. Forms must be turned in by October 1st, they will not be accepted after this date.

Bear Necessities is hosting their Fall Donation Drive during September & October.  Follow us on TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook for updates and priority ‘Needs!’  Donation boxes are located in the Main Office & the HS Hallway Display Case.  Monetary donations can also be sent to the Main Office.  Thanks for the support! 

After school tutoring will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 to 4pm in room 115 or 118.

The weight room will be open for students after school on Monday through Thursday each week from 3:15-4:15pm. 

5 Star Driver Education is offering driver education. Stop by the office to pick up an information sheet or go to www.fivestardrivered.com

The Monroe Central 7th Grade Lady Bears continued their strong season with a commanding victory over Randolph Southern, winning in two sets, 25-11 and 25-8. The win was yet another example of the team’s balanced play, with contributions coming from every corner of the roster. Bristol Goad led the charge with an impressive seven aces, putting pressure on Randolph Southern from the service line. Mati McConnell also had a strong game, recording three aces and two perfect receiving passes. Haidyn Knott added two aces and two assists, showcasing her playmaking skills. Gracie McCreery contributed 1 ace and 1 kill, while Izzy McGrath also recorded 1 kill. Anna Wines chimed in with a notable kill, and Ashtyn Baldwin secured an ace. The Lady Bears controlled the match from start to finish, with another all-around team effort, all players played a role in the victory. Next game is at home tonight, against Selma. 

The 8th Grade Volleyball hit a 3-game win streak last night, defeating Randolph Southern in 2 sets. Mckenna Murphy dominated behind the line with 9 aces, followed by Lucy Huston with 2, and May Morrison and Ivy Phelps with 1 apiece. May Morrison had 5 kills on the night with Mckenna Murphy closely behind at 3. Lucy Huston had 4 assists at setter, and Emma Pugsley had 2. Mckenna Murphy and Lucy Huston also had 1 dig a piece from the back row. Lady Bears see action again tonight against Selma in Hall Gym.
