This week is College Go Week – Student Services is sponsoring two projects with that. First, all students are encouraged to decorate their lockers with items representing their favorite colleges. Judging will occur on Friday during LITE period. Second, any senior who applies to a college this week needs to bring proof of that to Student Services this week to be entered into a drawing. Many of the colleges waive application fees this week, so it’s a great time to apply if you haven’t already.
Seniors interested in painting ceiling tiles – our next event will be an after school event on Tuesday, October 4th until 5:30 p.m. This will be your last chance. If interested and unable to attend, please contact Mr. Retherford on Schoology.
As we come up on Spirit Week and College Go Week, students and sponsors are reminded that only the blue painters tape or magnets may be used to hang items on lockers. No scotch tape, duct tape, etc. – these types of tapes can damage the paint. If for some reason there is something hanging on your lockers currently that was taped up with the incorrect tape, we ask that you remove it very carefully. See us in the office for some blue painters tape to replace those items on your locker. Your help is appreciated so that we may keep lockers looking nice.
We will have tutoring every Tuesday and Thursday night after school. Mrs. Van Pelt will tutor on Tuesdays and Mr. Hartle will tutor on Thursdays. Any questions, see Mrs. Swift in Student Services.
All high school students (grades 9-12) are invited to the Harvest Semi-Formal dance on Saturday, October 1st from 8pm-11pm. Cost of tickets will be $15 for couples and $8 for a single. Tickets can be purchased during lunch and will also be sold at the door the night of the dance. If you plan on bringing a student from another school, please fill out a dance request form and have it returned to the office before September 30th.
The Monroe Central chapter of National Honor Society is hosting a blood drive on Friday, September 30th. Donors must be at least 16 years old. Students 17 years old and over can sign up without parent permission forms. 16 year old students may sign up, but require a parent permission form to be completed. Permission forms may be obtained in the office. Students may register online – check the printed announcements in Schoology for the link. We have also posted the link along with the announcement on the Monroe Central Jr.-Sr. High School mass group page in Schoology. See Mrs. Ulrey if you have any questions.
