Grades 9-12: The link to vote for the 2023 homecoming king and queen is now on schoology. Voting will stop Wednesday the 25th.
Attention Junior High Students – The MC Varsity Cheerleaders will be hosting a clinic for students in grades K-8 for all students who may have an interest in cheerleading. The clinic will be held on Saturday, January 28 with registration beginning at 9:00 a.m. The clinic will conclude at 12:30 p.m. Participants will also cheer at the Boys JV/V basketball game that evening. Cost for the clinic is $30.00. Registration forms may be picked up in the office and need to be completed ASAP as t-shirts have to be ordered.

On Saturday February 11th, from 8AM to 4PM, the Annual IPMG/Special Olympics basketball Invitational will be held at Monroe Central High School. Special Olympics is looking for volunteers in various opportunities such as being a referee, score keeping, runners, clean up, concessions, etc. If you’re interested in volunteering, all day or half day, please see Mrs. Wines in Room 144 to sign up.
The Lady Bears celebrated their Breast Cancer Awareness night with a 52-32 Victory over Cowan. Kimber Abshear led a balanced offensive attack with 19 points and 14 rebounds, Audrey Keeley had 8 points and 7 rebounds. Sydney Patterson added 8 points and 5 assists and Mayleigh Ervin chipped in 7 points. The Bears are now 10-9 on the season and look to have a strong finish to the year next week against Delta and Blue River.
The JV Lady Bears got back a win on Breast Cancer Awareness Night over Cowan 30-8. The Bears were led in scoring by Sophia Bolton with 10. Gracie Baker added 8 points. Aubrey Johnson had 5, Avery Thomas 4, and Riu rounded out the scoring with 3 points.
Monroe Central Jr. High girls won a hard fought game Thursday night against Selma Middle School 39-22. Olivia Conklin leading the way with 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals, Haidyn Dumpert followed with 7 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals, Aberee Ervin added 6 points, 7 steals, and 2 rebounds, Oaklei Davis contributed with 6 points, and 4 rebounds, Brylie Tinsman had 5 points, and Brynlee Patterson added 3 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals.
The 8th grade boys traveled to Union last night and came home with a 38 to 33 victory. The Bears trailed by 12 at the half but outscored Union 31 to 14 in the second half to secure the win. Defensively the Bears held Union to single digit scoring in 3 of the 4 quarters. Pierceton Erwin led 6 Bears in scoring with 14 followed by Conner Baker and Caden Dance with 8 apiece. The Bears travel to Randolph Southern Monday night.
