8th graders – You have been added to a new group called Class of 2027 on schoology. This is where you find useful information about class events and fundraising.

There will be no after school tutoring today. Tutoring will start again on Tuesday, January 10th.

Masque and Gavel is meeting after school today until 4:15 to discuss the play and schedule.

Softball practices have been canceled for the time being.

Any Junior High or High School student interested in joining Chess Club, there will be a callout meeting in front of Mr. Ferguson’s room (109) during C Lunch today.

The Monroe Central 7th Grade Boys Basketball team defeated conference rival Shenandoah by a score of 43-30 on Tuesday night. A strong second half helped the Bears pick up their 9th win of the season and stay undefeated in the MEC. Luke Morgan led the Bears in scoring with 39. The Bears play again on Monday at Blackford.

Monroe Central Jr. High girls won Tuesday night against Tri Middle School 35-15. Aberee Ervin leading the way with 11 points, 4 steals, and 3 rebounds, followed by Olivia Conklin with 8 points, 5 steals, and 2 rebounds, Brynlee Patterson added another 7 points, 3 steals, and 6 rebounds, Haidyn Dumpert followed with 6 points, and 2 rebounds, Oaklei Davis added 3 points, 6 steals, and 14 rebounds. There was an extra quarter played after the main game with the Lady Bears winning 9-0 with Abby Thomas, Haidyn Dumpert, Callie Rowe, and Brylie Tinsman all contributing to the win.

Monroe Central Jr. High Girls won Wednesday night against Blue River Valley Middle School 48-11. Leading the way with 16 points, 5 steals, and 2 rebounds was Aberee Ervin. Olivia Conklin added 12 points, 3 steals, and 1 rebound. Brynlee Patterson added 8 points, 3 steals, and 3 rebounds, Oaklei Davis added 8 points, 2 steals, and 5 rebounds, Abby Thomas contributed with 2 points, and 2 rebounds, Charlee Morris added 2 points, 1 steal, and 2 rebounds. There was a hard fought extra quarter played after the main game.
