Daily Announcements 10/03/2022

Congratulations to Karly Puckett and Elijah Taylor for making it into the Top 5 for the Randolph County Lilly Scholarship. Next up for them is the interview round which will take place on Thursday. Good luck to both of you!

Seniors – This morning I posted a link to a survey for you all to complete regarding the Class of 2023 senior trip on the Class of 2023 Schoology Group page. Please complete the survey by the end of the day on Thursday, October 6th. Thank you!

Seniors interested in painting ceiling tiles – our next event will be an after school event on Tuesday, October 4th until 5:30 p.m. This will be your last chance. If interested and unable to attend, please contact Mr. Retherford on Schoology.

The Farmland Fire Department Fire Prevention dance will be on Saturday, October 8th from 8-11pm. Come out for a fun time!

We will have tutoring every Tuesday and Thursday night after school. Mrs. Van Pelt will tutor on Tuesdays and Mr. Hartle will tutor on Thursdays. Any questions, see Mrs. Swift in Student Services.

The boys and girls’ cross-country teams competed in County Tuesday night at Union. Both teams came out as champions! All-County medalists for the girls were Addison Coe, overall champion placing 1st, Avery Thomas,4th, Katie Osborne, 5th, and Karly Puckett placing 7th. All-County medalists for the boys were Caden Landis, who was also the overall champion, Eli Chamberlain, 2nd, Lane Dance, 5th, and Nathan Daniels, 8th. On top of that we had multiple season records and personal records. The teams will run in Conference this Saturday at Blue River sta did have two turnovers but rallied late to win in a thriller 47-42.. The win was a true team effort. Thanks to all that came to support. The Bear’s play in Indy versus Trader’s Point this week.

Both JV and Varsity squads fell to Eastbrook over the weekend. Leaders for the JV team include Mckenna Hendy with 3 kills and Karmen Summers with 3 digs. Sophia Bolton added a kill for her team as well as 2 digs. Rylin Tinsmen and Mckenna Hendy tied for a team high of 3 aces while Ava Phelps added 2 aces. Scores: 20-25, 14-25. Leaders for the varsity squad include Maggie Haney with 5 kills and tying with Aubrey Johnson for 7 digs. Liz Chamberlain and Karmen Summers each added 3 digs. Hadley Hendrickson added 2 kills and 3 blocks on the day. Scores: 11-25, 18-25, 9-25.

The MC Jr High Cross Country teams are again MEC Champions! Both the Boys
and the Girls teams came out on top in the 10 school Mid-Eastern Conference. The Girls team finished the season with a record of 56-2 and the Boys team ended at 65-10. Two amazing seasons! Aberee Ervin was the Girls MEC winner with a time of 12:02. She was followed by Abby Thomas and Brylie Tinsman in 4th and 5th. Andi Watson ran well to come in 12th, followed by Brynlee Patterson in 15th place. Oaklie Davis finished out the top 7 in 29th place. Ailey Moon finished in 34th, and Megan DeVoss in 41st place. Makayla Daniels and Charlee Morris finished 45th and 48th. Haidyn Dumpert ran well, finishing 66th. Jackson Wines ran well to finish in 3rd place overall. Jed Ferguson got another PR, coming in 5th. Alexander Coe finished 8th followed by Zadok Lloyd in 10th. Wyatt Daniels ran his PR time, coming in 13th. Stephen Stockwell finished 32nd followed by Noah Moery in 68th place.
