Congratulations to the Monroe Central junior varsity quiz bowl team which defeated Blackford High School on Tuesday night. Every team member contributed to the victory. Go Bears!

Anchor Club members please have your sign up forms and dues turned into Coach Beau by the end of this week.

Seniors – There is a link to a survey for you all to complete regarding the Class of 2023 senior trip on the Class of 2023 Schoology Group page. Please complete the survey by the end of the day today. Thank you!

The JV/Varsity volleyball team will have their Pink Out game tonight at 6pm. There will be a bake sale and basket giveaway. All proceeds go to Peyton Manning Pediatric Cancer Center and Hematology. Wear your pink and come support MC volleyball and a great cause!

Do you love poetry? If so, now is your chance to compete in MC’s annual Poetry Out Loud competition. POL is a contest in which high school students recite two poems to a panel of judges for a chance to compete at the state level (and possibly win some money). If interested in this year’s competition, please contact Mrs. Braswell THIS WEEK through Schoology or in person.

The Farmland Fire Department Fire Prevention dance will be on Saturday, October 8th from 8-11pm. Come out for a fun time!

We will have tutoring every Tuesday and Thursday night after school. Mrs. Van Pelt will tutor on Tuesdays and Mr. Hartle will tutor on Thursdays. Any questions, see Mrs. Swift in Student Services.

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are an Alliance for Young Artists & Writers. Teens in grades 7-12 (ages 13 and up) can apply in 28 categories of art and writing. If you have a passion for art and/or writing poetry check out artandwriting.org

The junior high football team closed out their season with a 34-16 loss to South Adams. We are proud of the growth the team showed throughout the year. And we will be ready to continue that growth in the off season.

The JV volleyball squad lost a hard fought battle to Daleville in 2 sets, 18-25 and 22-25. Karmen Summers led the group with 12 digs, also tallying 2 kills and an ace. Mckenna Hendy led her team with 4 kills also tallying 8 digs and a team high of 2 aces. Hadley Hendrickson added 6 digs , 2 kills, and an ace while Sophia Bolton added 5 digs, 2 kills and an ace. Kaylee Swift and Rylin Tinsmen each talled 4 digs for their team and Angie Burress added 3. The JV squad will play their last match of the season tonight, at home, against Blue River Valley for dig pink night.

The varsity volleyball squad lost to Daleville in a 3 set sweep. Maggie Haney led the team with 4 kills also adding 3 digs and an ace. Sophia Bolton and Karmen Summers tied with a team high of 4 digs, while Karmen Summers added an ace as well. Aubrey Johnson and Liz Chamberlain added 3 digs a piece and Jazzy Short came up with 2 digs. The varsity squad will end their regular season matches tonight as Blue RIver Valley travels to MC for dig pink night.
