Daily Announcements 10/16/2023

Hopefully, everyone had a wonderful Fall Break! As we start the 2nd nine weeks of school, all 9th, 10th, and 11th-grade students will take the PSAT 8/9 or PSAT/NMSQT on Tuesday, October 17th. On Tuesday, Students need to ensure a fully charged Chromebook and calculator; if they want a handle calculator, an online calculator is available in the program. Scrap paper and pencil will be provided. 

Students attending the MACC, MCE, or Winchester in the AM must report to Monroe Central Jr/Sr High School for testing. MACC, MCE, and Winchester have already been contacted about the PSAT testing at Monroe Central Jr/Sr High School. 

Anchor Club is collecting new socks for Socktober. Donations will be going to journey home and there is a box for donation in the front office. We also will be in Parker at the Family Dollar on the morning of October 28th collecting socks as well. 

7th and 8th grade: The Zoo field trip is tomorrow. Please make sure to bring a disposable lunch if you select to bring your own lunch. Also, it is supposed to be a little chilly and we will be outside so dress accordingly. 

The Monroe Central Scholarship Fund, Inc. Sadie Hawkins/Halloween Dance will be Saturday, October 28th from 7 pm to 10 pm. Dance request forms are due back to the school no later than Wednesday, October 25th. Students not from Monroe Central will need to bring a picture ID with them. 

Crabtree Photography will be taking pictures for the dance. To order pictures, pick up an order form in the front office or in Student Services or you can click on the link below to order online.

Monroe Central Youth Cheerleading presents Boots & Beauties, a father daughter dance on November 18th from 7pm-9pm at the MC Elementary Gym. Monroe Central students Pre-k through HS Seniors are invited to come. Cost is $20, each additional daughter is $5. 

After school help will be every Tuesday and Thursday. This is for all grades and all subjects. It will be held in room 118.

MCCTA is still selling beef sticks before school and after school in the junior high and high school hallways (outside room 110) and in Mrs. Van Pelt’s room.

The Golden Bear football team won Friday at Shenandoah under the “Windmill” 22-6. The team ended the season winning three of the last four ball games. The team opens tournament play at county rival Union City this Friday.
