Daily Announcements 10/29/2020

In Tuesday night action, our MC Varsity Quiz Bowl team of Olivia Sloniker, Casey Comer, Tobi Lott, and Noah Bootcheck defeated Madison-Grant 100-20. Our MC Junior Varsity team of Nick Hendrickson, Gabe Rees, Keegan Stoops, and Grant Rees defeated Madison-Grant 100-60. Great job to both teams!

The Student Council will have a donation box in the office for Secret Families. Please bring in wrapping paper and tape. Thank you and Go Bears!

The JAG Association will be collecting $1.00 from anyone who would like to dress up in a Halloween costume on Friday, October 30th. (The JAG students will be coming to your 2nd period classes after announcements on Friday to collect the money.) Please keep the costumes school appropriate and make sure you are still able to wear a mask.

The Class of 2023 will have a “Howl-lo-ween” dog parade this Saturday at the park in Parker City. Dress up your dog and strut your mutt down Main Street in Parker City. Registration will begin at 12:30pm and cost is $10 for the first dog and $5 for each additional dog.

The Parker City Fall Festival is being held this Saturday at the Parker City Fire Station. Activities include:
Free Chili, hot dogs and dessert: 1-6pm
Cake walk and games: 3-5pm
Parker City trick-or-treating: 6-8pm
Hayrides: 8-10pm
Bonfire, free hot dogs & hot chocolate: 9-11:30pm
Dance: 9-11:30pm
Admission to the dance is $3. Food and drinks will be served, and prizes will be given out all night.

There are applications for Sickels Christmas Tree Farm in the office.

Any High School student interested in honoring our MC Alumni who have served in the Armed Forces, please contact Mr. Ferguson or Max Bradley. We have started a Military Honor Wall Group, with the goal of building a Memorial Wall to publicly recognize all of our MC Veterans. We need your help in contacting alumni, and recruiting the support of local businesses.

It’s Socktober! You can help make this a warmer winter for our friends in need! The Monroe Central Anchor Club is collecting new socks to donate to The Journey Home in Winchester throughout the month of October. If you are interested in donating socks, please let an Anchor know. Socks may also be taken to the box in Mr. Benken’s room, 107. Thank you!
