Daily Announcements 11/06/2023

There will be high school boys basketball tryouts tonight in Main Gym from 6pm-8:30pm.

There will be FFA crops, forestry, and entomology practices today, Nov 6, from 3:20 – 5:00 pm in room 150.

The deadline for ordering student council t-shirts has been extended to Wednesday. Get your orders and payment to Mrs. Van Pelt by Wednesday after school.

Jostens will be here on Tuesday, November 7th during lunch for class jewelry and graduation announcement and cap and gown orders. Orders may also be placed online for the next two weeks. Extra packets are available in the front office.

Monroe Central Masque & Gavel would like to invite you to the 2023 fall performance of “Robin Hood: The Next Generation” written by Shirley McNichols. The first link is to order tickets online through ShowTix4U.com. Seats are of various rates depending on their location.  Seats in the first row of round tables include dinner! This meal consists of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, salad, a roll, dessert, and drinks for evening performances. Saturday afternoon performance includes drinks and dessert. Anyone is welcome to pay cash at the door as well with any seats that were not previously purchased.

Monroe Central Youth Cheerleading presents Boots & Beauties, a father daughter dance on November 18th from 7pm-9pm at the MC Elementary Gym. Monroe Central students Pre-k through HS Seniors are invited to come. Cost is $20, each additional daughter is $5. 

The MCCTA (Mrs. Van Pelt) will be selling granola bars instead of beef sticks. They are 2 bars for $1.

After school help will be every Tuesday and Thursday. This is for all grades and all subjects. It will be held in room 118.

The Golden Bear football team was beaten last Friday night in a thriller. The Bears lost to Sheridan 25-22. Thanks to all that showed up to support the team.

Monroe Central dropped their home opener to Frankton on Saturday night. The Lady Bears fell by the score of 52-32. The Bears battled and cut the Frankton lead down to 7 late in the 3rd quarter but wouldn’t get any closer as the Eagles pulled away throughout the 4th quarter. Sydney Patterson led the Bears with a team high 11 points and 3 assists. Kimber Abshear added 10 points and 9 rebounds while Addy Puckett finished the game with 7 points and 4 steals. The Lady Bears look to bounce back on the road Tuesday night against Daleville for a 7pm Varsity only contest.
