Middle school open mats will be canceled on Wednesday, and is rescheduled for Thursday this week.
The deadline for ordering Academic Team shirts is Thursday, November 16. Please have the order forms and payment in to Mrs. Smiley (room 114) by Thursday after school.
This Friday there will be a FFA chapter meeting right after school with cookies and cooking. Bring your aprons and your joyful holiday personality!
There will be a call-out meeting on Tuesday, November 21st during Study Hall for any high school student interested in participating in this year’s Poetry Out Loud program. The meeting will be in Mrs. Braswell’s room.
Anchor Club along with FFA will be putting together Thanksgiving Food Baskets for families in need. We would love your help in getting supplies for these food bags. There is a list in the high school office that has what items we need and how much. If you are willing and able to donate towards this cause it would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to make a monetary donation towards the baskets we can do that as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated. All food donations need to be turned in by Monday, November 20th. Any monetary donations need to be turned in by November 17th.
Monroe Central Masque & Gavel would like to invite you to the 2023 fall performance of “Robin Hood: The Next Generation” written by Shirley McNichols. The first link is to order tickets online through ShowTix4U.com. Seats are of various rates depending on their location. Seats in the first row of round tables include dinner! This meal consists of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, salad, a roll, dessert, and drinks for evening performances. Saturday afternoon performance includes drinks and dessert. Anyone is welcome to pay cash at the door as well with any seats that were not previously purchased.

Monroe Central Youth Cheerleading presents Boots & Beauties, a father daughter dance on November 18th from 7pm-9pm at the MC Elementary Gym. Monroe Central students Pre-k through HS Seniors are invited to come. Cost is $20, each additional daughter is $5.
The MCCTA (Mrs. Van Pelt) will be selling granola bars instead of beef sticks. They are 2 bars for $1.
After school help will be every Tuesday and Thursday. This is for all grades and all subjects. It will be held in room 118.
The Lady Bears varsity basketball team improved their record to 3-1 with a 52-30 win over the Morristown Yellow Jackets on Tuesday night. Monroe Central trailed 15-11 after the first quarter but out scored the Yellow Jackets 41-15 to finish the game. Defensively,
Addy Puckett held their leading scorer scoreless for the game while accumulating 7 steals and 6 rebounds. Kimber Abshear and Sydney Patterson continued to pace the offense, combining for 29 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists between the two. The Lady Bears are back in action on Thursday night against Randolph Southern at 7pm.
