Seniors: If you haven’t already, please go to Student Services as soon as possible to verify the spelling of your full name including suffix if applicable. If you are unable to come to Student Services, please Schoology message her your full birth given name. Mrs. Swift needs to place the diploma order.

The MC Academy is sponsoring a Food Drive during the month of November and start of December with all food items being donated for Christmas food assistance through the Rex Amburn Memorial Food Drive within the MC Community. This year’s annual food drive will be a COMPETITION between grades 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and the teachers & staff.
–This year the teachers & staff will have a box to contribute toward the competition.
–You need to bring in the listed item of the day to get a point for that day.
–For each food item you donate to your grade’s box your class will receive one (1) point.
–For each dollar you donate to your grade’s jar your class will receive one (1) point.
–If you donate an item that is not on the list for that day to another grade’s box they will lose a point.
–The class with the most points will win a prize for each student.

We will have tutoring every Tuesday and Thursday night after school. Mrs. Van Pelt will tutor on Tuesdays and Mr. Hartle will tutor on Thursdays. Any questions, see Mrs. Swift in Student Services.

The Lady Bears picked up their third win in a row by defeating Wes Del 58-24. The Bears had three players reach double figures for the game, Sydney Patterson with 17 points and Kimber Abshear and Mayleigh Ervin both added 12 points a piece. The Lady Bears are now 3-1 on the season and travel to Randolph Southern on Thursday.

The Monroe Central 7th grade boys basketball team defeated the Cowan Blackhawks Monday night by a score of 43-25. A strong second half push put the Bears in good position to earn their first victory of the season. The Bears were led in scoring by Luke Morgan with 21, Myles Oliphant with 7, Peyton Chamness with 6, and Jed Ferguson with 5. The Bears are in action again on Thursday at 5:30 at home against Yorktown.
