Grades 9-12, mark your calendar for the Winter Semi-Formal Dance on December 30th, 2022. Tickets will start being sold the week before winter break, or at the door.
The MC Academy is sponsoring a Food Drive during the month of November and start of December with all food items being donated for Christmas food assistance through the Rex Amburn Memorial Food Drive within the MC Community. This year’s annual food drive will be a COMPETITION between grades 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and the teachers & staff.
–You need to bring in the listed item of the day to get a point for that day.
–For each food item you donate to your grade’s box your class will receive one (1) point.
–For each dollar you donate to your grade’s jar your class will receive one (1) point.
–If you donate an item that is not on the list for that day to another grade’s box they will lose a point.
–The class with the most points will win a prize for each student.
Below is a list for each day. This list will be available in the cafeteria as well.
Friday, Dec 2- Tomato Soup
Monday, Dec 5- Corn
Tuesday, Dec 6- Mixed Vegetables

Last night the 8th grade boys lost a tight battle to Hagerstown 33 to 32. The game was close throughout with the Bears taking a 4 point lead into halftime. Caden Dance led the Bears with 13 points followed by Pierceton Erwin with 9 and Conner Baker with 8. The Bears travel to Blue River tonight.
JV girls defeated Union City 19-8. Avery Thomas led the Bears with 9 points. Sophia Bolton had 4, Kaylee Swift and Riu each had 3 points. The ladies played solid defense in the win. The Bears travel to play county rival Winchester on Saturday.
Monroe Central picked up their 6th win in a row, defeating Union City 49-15. The Lady Bears had a dominating performance on the defensive end, holding the Indians to just 15 points for the game. Kimber Abshear led the offense with 15 points and 16 rebounds, Mayleigh Ervin and Maggie Haney combined for 19 points and 8 rebounds. It was another solid team win for the Lady Bears. The Bears are now 6-1 and travel to Winchester on Saturday night looking for their 7th win in row against the Falcons!
