Daily Announcements 12/15/2022

The Jr. High winter dance is this Friday, after school until 5pm. The theme is ugly sweaters, and admission is $2 at the door.

Great job last night to Matilde Ibarra, Ivon Padilla, Aubrey Miller, and Bailey Baker-Swift in the Poetry Out Loud Competition. Very impressive job by all. Special congratulations to Matilde on winning MC’s competition. He will now compete in the state competition this coming spring. Good luck at State Matilde!

MACC applications are now open to 10th and 11th grade students for the 23-24 school year! All students interested in attending the Muncie Area Career Center must have an application on file in order to attend. Current MACC students wishing to return next year must also fill out a new application. Applications can be picked up in student services and are due back to student services before Christmas break, December 20th.

Students who received a Second Harvest study trip permission slip last Friday, need to turn those in this week.

The High School Student Council will be sponsoring dress up days during finals week. There is no cost. Please, remember that finals days are very important and these dress up days should not be a distraction to testing.
Monday will be pajama day.
Tuesday will be ugly Christmas sweater day.

The girls and boys County Basketball Tournament will be held at Union City on January 4th-7th, 2023. Presale all session tickets are available December 12th-21st and January 3rd-4th in the high school office from 8am-3pm. All session tickets cost $15 and are good for all 4 nights of the tournament. Single session tickets purchased at the door will be $7.

Jostens will be here Friday, December 16th to distribute class rings and will also be accepting last minute cap and gown orders from seniors.

All library books are due Monday, December 19th before leaving for Christmas Break. Students who do not return borrowed books will be charged a fine.

Officer Parker has created a “See Something, Say Something” form for students to complete in order to create an anonymous way for students to report school safety concerns to us. That form has been put in Schoology and will likely be added to the website as well. Grades 9-12, mark your calendar for the Winter Semi-Formal Dance on December 30th, 2022. Tickets will be sold during lunch starting on December 12th or can be purchased at the door the night of the dance. Ticket cost is $15 per couple or $8 for a single.

The MC varsity wrestling team lost 18-58 tonight against Centerville giving 42 pts in forfeits. Winning for the Golden Bears were our 3 seniors at 182 Jacobe Butler earning his 2nd victory of the season, at 195 Kolten Tinsman earned a 1st period pin to run his season record to 7-1, and wrestling up a little at 220 Hunter Page also won by pin making his record 8-0 on the season. The Golden Bears are back in action on Dec 23rd in the ECIC at Jay County.

The 8th grade boys lost to a very good Lapel team last night 44 to 18. The boys kept it close in the 1st half with some good half court defense but Lapel pulled away in the second half to seal the win. Maddox Taylor led 4 Bears in the scoring department with 6 followed by Carson Siekmann with 5, Pierceton Erwin with 4 and Caden Dance with 3.
