Daily Announcements 12/18/2024
Finals will start today, Wednesday, December 18, and end on Friday afternoon. Testing will begin at 10:05 AM on both Wednesday and Friday. Students who wish can arrive late, around 9:45 AM, on these days. For those who prefer to arrive on time, the gym, cafeteria, and library will be open. Thursday, December 19, will follow the regular start time, as students will have three finals scheduled for that day.
The girls and boys County Basketball Tournament will be held at Winchester Community H.S. Field House on January 8th-11th, 2025. Presale all session tickets are being sold from December 16th-20th in the high school office from 8am-3pm and on January 7th from 8am-3pm and January 8th from 8am-noon. All session tickets cost $15 and can be used all 4 nights of the tournament. Single session tickets purchased at the door will be $7.

After school tutoring will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 to 4pm in room 115 or 118.
The weight room will be open for students after school on Monday through Thursday each week from 3:15-4:15pm.

The JV Golden Bears started slow but were able to go into halftime with a 20-16 lead. The Bears picked it up in the second half and won their first game of the year 50-27. The team was led in scoring by Isaac Middleton with 15. He was followed by Chandler Breedlove with 14.
The Golden Bears wrestling team defeated Centerville 38-33. Winners for the Bears were freshman Corbin Taylor, Sophomores Lane Whitehead, Grant Linville, Christian Erwin, and Cory Brown Jr who ran his record to 10-0, Seniors Jerimiah Ullom and Landon Tinsman also won to assist in this team win. This runs Grappler Golden Bears’ record to 6-4. They compete at Jay County HS in the ECIC tournament on Dec 23rd.
The varsity boys basketball team came out of the gates hot and went into halftime up 46-17. The Golden Bears continued this in the second half and finished off winning 75-37. The Bears were led in scoring by Easton Foster but had 10 other players score as well. The Bears look to pick up another win on Friday at lapel.
