There are picture order forms for the Sweethearts dance in the office.

The Randolph County Amateur Radio Club is working to establish Radio Clubs in each of the five county schools.  Club members will work towards getting their amateur radio licenses from the FCC with an ultimate goal of being able to create a station to communicate directly with astronauts on the International Space Station.  Sounds like a cool opportunity for those who may have an interest in radio communication.  If you are interested in learning more about this club, you are asked to come to the office to sign up and to pick up a flier.  They are hoping to start club activities in March.

Attention Current Juniors interested in doing an internship next year:  Randolph County United has posted all of the internships available to Randolph County students next year.  Among those internships are the following Monroe Central internships:  Office Assistant, Athletic Department Intern, Ag Greenhouse Intern, SE Assistant, Pre-School Assistant, Mechanic Intern, and Technology Intern.  If you are interested in any of these positions or other Randolph County internships, please apply at www.rcuinternshipportal.com.  The application deadline is February 20, 2023.

On Saturday February 11th, from 8AM to 4PM, the Annual IPMG/Special Olympics basketball Invitational will be held at Monroe Central High School. Special Olympics is looking for volunteers in various opportunities such as being a referee, score keeping, runners, clean up, concessions, etc. If you’re interested in volunteering, all day or half day, please see Mrs. Wines in Room 144 to sign up.

Monroe Central C-team improved their record to 4-3 on the season with a buzzer beating victory over Northeastern.  The Bears executed a sideline out of bounds play to perfection with Julius Ullom feeding Kyler Bogue the ball for a three pointer as time expired.  The Bears were led in scoring by Justice Davis with 11 points, Griffin Gannom added 10 points, Cohen West chipped in 7 points, Kyler Bogue with 3, and Julius Ullom rounded out the scoring with 2 points.  Julius also did a great job rebounding the basketball.  The Bears finish their season tomorrow at home against Winchester.
