Monroe Central National Honor Society will be hosting a Blood Drive on Tuesday, April 13th. Students can sign up in Student Services. Students that are 16 years old will need to complete the parent permission form and return it to Student Services before signing up. If you are 17 years old and older, you can sign up!

Reminders:
Masks need to be worn at all times covering both your mouth and your nose except for when eating or drinking. By doing so, contact tracing becomes more minimized.
Hats and hoods should not be worn anywhere in the building. Hats should be left in lockers during the school day.
As we approach warmer weather, it’s important that students revisit the dress code in the student handbook to make sure that they dress appropriately for school.
Teachers have been directed to refer violators to administration for possible disciplinary consequences.

Freshmen – We are looking to start a 7th grade mentoring program next year and will need peer mentors. Those mentors will come from this year’s freshman class which will be next year’s sophomore class. All interested students are encouraged to attend a call-out meeting this Thursday during Study Hall in Hall gymnasium. We will call you out of study hall via the PA system. Mrs. Haney and Officer Knuckles will be serving as co-sponsors of the mentoring program. If you are a current freshmen and interested in possibly being a mentor and can’t attend the meeting on Thursday, please talk to Mrs. Haney or Officer Knuckles.

Juniors – On June 21-23, 2021 and June 23-25, 2021, the Indianapolis Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association will host two sessions of the FBI Youth Leadership Academy (YLA). The YLA is designed to promote an educational experience that will provide students with valuable leadership training and a greater understanding of the FBI. If any Junior is interested, please see Mrs. Swift in Student Services for more information. (3/12)

PENNY WARS: We are having a grade level/teachers/staff Penny Wars competition. Pay close attention to the rules: All pennies will count as positive points toward your grade level score. You can also donate silver coins and bills to OTHER grade levels in order to subtract points from their total. The face value of the money is how much will be deducted (Example: a quarter donated would deduct 25 points from that grade levels’ score). The grade level that has the most points at the end of the week will receive ice cream sandwiches at lunch and bragging rights! All proceeds will go toward the MCHS Military Wall.

There will be a Pajama Day on Wednesday. Turn in your $1 to your first period teacher to wear pajamas all day! All proceeds will be donated to the MCHS Military Wall.
