Daily Announcements 3/14/2023

There will be no after school tutoring Thursday this week. Enjoy your spring break!

All library books are due this Wednesday, March 15th. Thanks! 

Any FFA member being honored at the Farmers Achievement Banquet on March 30, be sure to get your tickets reserved by this Wednesday, March 15, by talking to Mr. Weiler. Please let us know whether you will or will not be attending. Tickets for parents are $10 each. Congratulations!   

Containers for the “Put your teacher in jail” will be on the stage during lunch with teacher’s names on them until Wednesday. Whichever teacher collects the most money will be “put in jail” and will not be able to be in the classroom on Thursday, March 16th. Those classes will have a movie and popcorn day!

Seniors: Please check your Schoology Class of 2023 group for current senior information. This will include your Graduation Speaker Google Form, Senior Superlatives as well as the Senior book pages with a wallet sized senior photo. The due dates for each are as follows:

  • Friday, April 14th–Senior book pages due w/ wallet size senior picture
  • Friday, April 14th–All photos for the Senior Slideshow (Graduation) are due to KP. You may submit them to him via his school email :  kylep@monroecentral.org ; OR bring photos in to Becky & Brook. They will see that he gets the photos for the slideshow.

Current Juniors/Class of 2024 – The Randolph County Youth Leadership Council is hosting the 39th Annual Randolph County Youth Salute. This initiative recognizes students who have shown leadership skills and/or scholastic achievement. There is also the potential of receiving scholarships. To qualify for the Leadership Salute, you must have served in a position of leadership in school, church or other community organization within the last three years.

To qualify for the Scholastic Achievement Citation, you must have met the criteria for the Leadership salute PLUS be in the top ten percent (10%) in your class scholastically. 

Nomination forms are available in Student Services and must be submitted to Student Services by March 16th, 2023.

On Saturday 3/18/23, Monroe Central will be hosting the Sectionals for Special Olympics basketball from 9AM to 4PM. Volunteers are needed for the following: referees, table captains, scorekeepers, runners, clean up and so much more so if you’re interested in volunteering, please see Mrs. Wines in room 144 for more details. Any help is appreciated!  

The teachers’ association is selling beef sticks before and after school. Mrs. Van Pelt will be outside room 110 each morning selling and in her room (115) after school.

After 2 weeks of Indoor competition, Monroe Central Track & Field has broken 5 school records. Including:

Audrey Keeley in the 60m Dash

Cole Munchel in the Shot Put

Easton Foster and Alden Mahaffey in the High Jump.

And the Fantastic 4 relay team of Karly Puckett, Addy Puckett, Katie Osborne, and Avery Thomas in the 4x800m relay AND the Distance Medley Relay.
