Daily Announcements 4/01/2021

The JAG Callout Meeting being held on Monday, 4/5/21 will now be on Google Meets. Please join the meeting with the code JAG. All 10th and 11th graders should join this meeting including virtual students. This meeting will start at 9:45 am and last approximately 15-20 minutes.

FFA Members, there will be a Chapter Meeting after school on Thursday, April 1st. We would love to see you there!

There will be a callout meeting for boys basketball players in current grades 7-11 will be held Monday, April 5th during study hall in the Main Gym. Any boy wanting to play basketball next year should attend this meeting.

We still have spots for the Blood Drive on Tuesday, April 13th; please sign up in Student Services. Also, it is Gold Day and the SAT School Day, junior testing sign up for an appointment after 12 PM. If you are 16 years old, you need parent permission, forms in Student Services. If 17 years old or older, you can sign up without a permission form.

MCHS BEAR KEY CHAINS!!!
Purchase your key chains during lunch on Monday, 4/5/21 through Friday, 4/9/21. If you are unable to purchase them during lunch please come to the JAG room (142) and purchase yours there. The MCHS Bear Key Chains will be 1 for $2.50 and 2 for $4.00.

Attention All Students: Masque & Gavel still has a few roles available for our Spring Show, “Anne of Green Gables” for anyone interested. They are all relatively small roles, so they may be the perfect roles to experiment with theatre. If you are interested, please send a Schoology message to Mr. Retherford.

Purdue Polytechnic Anderson is hosting a Robotics Night from 3:30 to 7:00pm on Thursday April 8th. Students will be able to tour our facility, see faculty and student run demonstrations, learn about our degree offerings, and watch some of our area high school VEX Robotics teams scrimmage against each other. For more information, see Mrs. Swift in Student Services.

Students looking for some community service? Looks great on college application and scholarships—also, a wonderful way to help out our own community. Please sign up in Student Services for Neighbors Helping Neighbors – Saturday, April 10th at 9 AM – Methodist Church in Parker City – 305 S Main Street. The main service will be helping clean some yards of Parker City residents.

High School Students: The Wayne County Virtual College Fair on Monday, April 12 at 6pm via Zoom. The four Wayne County, Indiana colleges (IU East, Ivy Tech, Earlham College, and Purdue Polytechnic Richmond) will be participating. It is a collaborative effort to discuss local/regional college options for students interested in educational opportunities in Wayne County. For more information see Mrs. Swift in Student Services.

Do you like to create art? The Art Association of Randolph County will be having its annual high school art competition. This art show is open to all high school students, whether they are in art class or not. Judging will take place here at Monroe Central from April 26-30. Please contact Mrs. Smiley for more information.

Reminders:
Masks need to be worn at all times covering both your mouth and your nose except for when eating or drinking. By doing so, contact tracing becomes more minimized.
Hats and hoods should not be worn anywhere in the building. Hats should be left in lockers during the school day.
As we approach warmer weather, it’s important that students revisit the dress code in the student handbook to make sure that they dress appropriately for school.
Teachers have been directed to refer violators to administration for possible disciplinary consequences.
