Monroe Central Elementary and the Jr.-Sr. High Schools are competing in Penny Wars for Water. Mr. Swallow and the 4th grade class at MCE, as a class project, are raising money to help areas of the world who do not have safe and clean drinking water sources.  Grade levels across the district will compete for who can earn the most money through their donations.  Coins will earn positive points, while paper money will earn negative points.  So, you want to donate coins in your grade level can and paper money into other grade level cans.  The winning grade level will receive a pizza party for the whole grade level.  Staff members will be allowed to wear sweats or jeans during the contest as well for $2.00 per day.  Look for Mr. Swallow to share more information on how the contest will work along with updates in Schoology.  The contest will run from April 10th to April 21st.  Let’s help the 4th grade raise a bunch of money for their class project.
