Daily Announcements 4/21/2023

Seniors: The cookout traditionally follows your graduation rehearsal and is held under the concession stand pavilion. We will have prize giveaways for those who attend. Please go to your “Seniors 2023” Schoology group page & fill out the cookout survey by May 3rd.  (Your graduation rehearsal & cookout will be Friday, June 2nd.)  Thank you! 

The Monroe Central Amateur Radio Club will host a callout and Open House for new membership on Monday, 4/24/23, 5-7pm in Hall Gym.  Bring your parent/guardian and stop by to officially sign up for the club.  If you are unable to make it to the Open House, registration forms will be available in the office to take home and get signed. 

The Monroe Central Anchor Club will be collecting adult coloring books, colored pencils, crossword/word search books, etc. to donate to the Parker City nursing home. Any items you bring in can be turned in to the front office. Please consider donating!

Today is the last day for Penny Wars for Water! Don’t forget to put your money in the jars on the stage at lunch! 

The teachers’ association is selling beef sticks before and after school. Mrs. Van Pelt will be outside room 110 each morning selling and in her room (115) after school.

The Bears softball team lost to Daleville Thursday 20-4. Whitley Martin and Aubrey Johnson went 2-3. Tessa Chesher, Ava Pohl, and Kinlee Taylor each added a hit. Whitley Martin, Ava Pohl, and Tessa Chesher each had a stolen base. The Bears are back at home against Tri on Friday.

The boys baseball played a tough one against a quality conference opponent, ultimately losing to Daleville 9-5. MC outscored Daleville 5-4 after Daleville’s 5 run first inning. MC outhit Daleville 13-10 with every batter recording at least 1 hit. MC will look to limit mistakes and come out strong in Saturdays DH with Adams Central.  Standouts:  Cole Luedike 1-4 2Rbi, Lane Wilson 2-4 1R 1Double 5ip 7H 2ER 4k 1bb, Blake Bogue 2-4, Levi Pence 2-4 1Rbi 1R, Kyler Bogue 2-4, Peyton Farmer 1-2 2Rbi 1R. 

The Golden Bear Track teams competed Thursday night (4/20) in a triangular meet against Cowan and Wapahani at Wapahani.

Girls Scores: Wap-79.5, MC 55.5, Cowan-18

Boys Scores: Wap-78, MC-53, Cowan-25
