Congratulations to the High School Band for earning a Gold rating at ISSMA Concert Band Contest last week.
Juniors and Seniors, prom 2023’s theme is “A Night on Cloud 9.” Prom Bids are on sale during A lunch until May 12th. A single ticket is $20, and a couple is $40.
The MC FFA will be hosting their April Chapter Meeting on Wednesday the 26th at 5:30 pm in Mr. Reeds’ room. They will be discussing the upcoming banquet and committees to join. There will be refreshments served!
Seniors: The cookout traditionally follows your graduation rehearsal and is held under the concession stand pavilion. We will have prize giveaways for those who attend. Please go to your “Seniors 2023” Schoology group page & fill out the cookout survey by May 3rd. (Your graduation rehearsal & cookout will be Friday, June 2nd.) Thank you!
The Monroe Central Anchor Club will be collecting adult coloring books, colored pencils, crossword/word search books, etc. to donate to the Parker City nursing home. Any items you bring in can be turned in to the front office. Please consider donating!
The teachers’ association is selling beef sticks before and after school. Mrs. Van Pelt will be outside room 110 each morning selling and in her room (115) after school.
On Monday, the boys varsity golf team traveled to Portland Golf Club to take on Jay County and Winchester in a 3-way match. The Bears shot well but came up just short, finishing in 3rd. The Bears were led by Bentley Thornburg shooting an impressive 40. Cohen West shot a 45, Coltan West with a 46, Gabe Reed with a 51, and Hayden Taylor with a 55. The team shot a 182 just behind Winchester with a 179. The Bears will travel to Richmond tomorrow to take on New Castle and Richmond in a 3-way match.

MC lost in the most heartbreaking fashion as Jay County walked it off with a 3 run home run with 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th. MC out hit JC 10-6 but committed 5 errors in the game. Lane Wilson got his 1st HR of the season belting a 2 run shot in the 2nd inning. Back at it tomorrow vs Cowan here at Home 5pm.
