Girls going into 7th through 9th grades are invited to Purdue University for a free all day Women in Engineering Program on July 22, 2023.  Please see Mrs. Swift in Student Services for more information on how to register.

The class of 2025 is putting on a “pie a staff member in the face” fundraiser this week. There will be one teacher selected from the Jr. High and one from the High School. Donate to a staff member’s jar at lunch to see them get pied on Friday, May 19th.

Yearbooks for the 2022-2023 school year are still being sold. Thanks to a community donation, one student who orders before May 22 will be drawn to receive a FREE YEARBOOK. Attention Students Taking Edmentum Classes – As we begin to wrap up the school year, here are some deadline dates for you.  All teacher-graded activities, projects, discussions, etc. must be finished by 3:05 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2023.  All learning modules, mastery tests, unit tests, and semester tests that are graded by Edmentum must be completed by 3:05 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.  Students who do not complete Edmentum courses will be enrolled in Summer School.  Please see Mr. Retherford or Mrs. Moran if you have any questions.

The teachers’ association is selling beef sticks before and after school. Mrs. Van Pelt will be outside room 110 each morning selling and in her room (115) after school.

The Bears played in the MEC Invitational this weekend at Crestview Golf Club. The Bears finished in 3rd place with a score of 370. Bentley Thornburg led the boys and finished with an 84 (36 on the front nine)! Coltan West shot a 90, Trystyn Thornburg with a 95, and Hayden Taylor and Cohen West finished with 101’s. Bentley Thornburg took home All-Conference honors and Coltan West took home Honorable Mention honors. The Bears are back in action next week against Lincoln and Wapahani before the Muncie Invite.

On Friday night Monroe Central hosted the MEC Track & Field Championships. Teams fought through a weather delay and extremely wet conditions to compete at a high level.

Your Golden Bears performed well with many season bests! The boys finished 2nd with 120 points, and the girls finished 4th with 61 points.
