Attention Jr. High and High School Students: It isn’t too late to order a yearbook, but the deadline is fast approaching. For the first time ever, no extra books will be available for sale after the books are delivered in late August or early September, so THIS FRIDAY, MAY 21st is the final deadline for purchase! Ask your parents to go to jostens.com to buy the book. If you have questions, see Ms. Barton in room 108. Books will be on sale during lunch on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. The price is still $45–a $5 savings from last year’s book.

IU Foundations in Science and Mathematics Program is a Summer educational program which offers courses in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, astronomy, and computer programming to rising and current high school students. Any student interested in more information, see Mrs. Swift in Student Services.

The Indiana Sheriff’s Association will be sponsoring two sessions of the Youth Leadership Camp this summer, June 28 – July 1. This program is for boys and girls currently in the 7th or 8th grade and are interested in learning more about law enforcement. See Mrs. Swift in Student Services for more information.

Monroe Central will be hosting a blood drive on Thursday, May 20th, from 9 AM to 1 PM. The Blood Banks are critically short on blood. Please consider signing up in Student Services if you haven’t already. Students must be 16 years old or older to give blood. If 16 years old, you will need to complete the release form; if 17 years or older, you can sign up! Please help make this event happen. Congratulations to the Baseball Team on another win last evening over South Adams by a score of 15-9. Braydon Matheny was the victorious pitcher and led the team with 3 hits. Caden Shumaker was 2 for 4 with 3 RBIs. Also picking up 2 hits for the Bears were Aiden Coffey and Joel Kennedy. The Golden Bears scored nine times in the third inning to break things wide open. Great job Bears!

Reminders:
Masks need to be worn at all times covering both your mouth and your nose except for when eating or drinking. By doing so, contact tracing becomes more minimized.
Hats and hoods should not be worn anywhere in the building. Hats should be left in lockers during the school day.
As we approach warmer weather, it’s important that students revisit the dress code in the student handbook to make sure that they dress appropriately for school.
