Daily Announcements 8/22/2023

Attention students grades 9-12 who want to be a class officer or on student council: Wednesday will be the last day to get your name on the ballot for class officers or student council members. Message Mrs. Van Pelt if interested and let her know which position you are interested in.

High School Book Club: Please check the Bookclub Schoology Group. We have a tie between bookclub name choices and a NEW Google form is available to cast your votes to break the tie. May the best bookclub name win!!!

School Picture Day is scheduled for Thursday, August 24th. Please bring your completed envelope on Picture Day if you wish to purchase. All students will have their picture taken on that day for the yearbook regardless of purchase decision. For any questions or replacement envelopes, please see Mr. Sims.

Seniors – Please make sure to wear a nice shirt on picture day (Thursday, August 24th) as this will be the picture on the senior composite.

MCCTA is still selling beef sticks before school and after school in the junior high and high school hallways (outside room 110) and in Mrs. Van Pelt’s room.

The Golden Bear JV football team opened their season with a 14-14 deadlock against Winchester. After a slow start the Bears faced an 8 point halftime deficit. The team fought with pride in the second half, tying up the game and then giving themselves a chance to win the game as time expired. We are really proud of the way this team fought and never gave up! The JV Bears are back in action next Monday at Union City.

The Monroe Central Lady Bears got beat by Bluffton 245-211 and by Jay County 245 -239. The Bears are now 0-4. They host Yorktown at Hickory Hills on Tuesday.
