The senior ballot for class president is on schoology. Voting will end after study hall on WEDNESDAY!

MCCTA is still selling beef sticks before school and after school in the junior high and high school hallways (outside room 110) and in Mrs. Van Pelt’s room.

The Golden Bear Football team won its home opener against county rival Union City 43-22. The game was tight early as the Bear’s would pull away as the first half ended. Special mention to Nick Hendrickson for handling the place kicking duties, as special teams played a big role as always…. Also, on a special teams note, Kicking Bear (Elijah Taylor) was in attendance and spoke to the team afterwards.

It was a great day of golf for the Lady Bear golfers. The team shaved 6 strokes off of the team score to keep improving their season low and placed 4th.  We had three girls named all conference.

Karmen Summers: 12th. 109 Career low 9 and 18 holes

Maleigh Ervin: 10th  107 Career low for 9 holes

Ariana Poe: 8th: 105 season low 9 and 18 holes

The Bears play Frankton at Hickory Hills on Monday.

The Monroe Central boys’ and girls’ high school cross country teams competed in the Wapahani Invitational this past Saturday. The boys team finished 3rd with Eli Chamberlain leading the way, placing 8th. Lane Dance, Zadok Lloyd, and Jackson Wines had an impressive day placing 17th, 18th, and 20th. Nathan Daniels, Cory Brown, Wyatt Daniels, Zayne Sampley, and Noah Moery also ran well. The girls’ team came out as the invitational’s champions. Addison Coe led the Bears placing 2nd, with Andi Watson, Avery Thomas, and Katie Osborne close behind placing 6th, 7th, and 8th. Gracie Baker, Mackenzie Pryor, Addy Puckett, Makaylah Brainerd, Ailey Moon, and Alivia Arvin also ran well. The Bears will be back in action on Tuesday at the rescheduled Pendleton Heights Invite starting with the varsity boys at 6.
