This is a reminder that Friday is a Professional Development day. Students will not have school on Friday or on Monday, September 4th, for Labor Day. Enjoy the four day weekend!

The Monroe Central FFA Chapter will be having their first chapter meeting of the school year on Wednesday, August 30th at 6:30 pm, all are welcome

The senior ballot for class president is on schoology. Voting will end after study hall on WEDNESDAY!

MCCTA is still selling beef sticks before school and after school in the junior high and high school hallways (outside room 110) and in Mrs. Van Pelt’s room.

The Monroe Central Girls Golf Team was defeated by Frankton on Monday 216-194 at Hickory Hills despite shooting their best round of the year. 3 girls shot their career personal bests. Monroe Central Scores:
Gracie Retter: 61 PB
Callie Rowe: 58 PB
Maleigh Ervin: 51
and low for the bears was Karmen Summers:50 PB
The Bears will play again on Tuesday at Winchester Golf Club against Union and Union City.

The junior high girls volleyball teams unfortunately fell to Richmond on 8/28.
7th grade:
Set 1: 4-25
Set 2: 13-25
8th grade:
Set 1: 8-25
Set 2: 11-25
Both teams improved and fought hard in the second sets, but ultimately fell to both teams.

The JV football team traveled to Union City Monday night and played the Indians to a 28-28 tie. The Bears were down 20-28 with 1:55 left in the game. After a crucial stop by the defense, Carson Siekmann hit Peyton Farmer for a 60 yard TD pass. Travis Reed carried in the 2 point conversion to tie the game! It would be easy to see a tie score and get in a negative mindset about the game. But this team took away a lot of positives from a hard fought, come from behind game! The JV Bears have a lot of heart!
