Daily Announcements 9/21/2020

This week we will be celebrating College GO! Week. There will be different activities happening all week, so make sure you pay attention to the announcements. Each day, we will be asking a college trivia question. Today’s trivia question is “What is the name of the oldest college in Indiana?” Be sure to schoology message Mrs. Moran by the end of the day for a chance to win a prize! Tomorrow is Ball State Day! Wear red tomorrow to rep BSU!

Tutoring will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school until 4:15.

Calling all Randolph County High School Students and Staff! There will be a Blood Drive at the Randolph County YMCA on October 15, 2020 from 3:30-6:30pm. All donors will receive a special mask and be entered to win a $25 gift card!

The varsity volleyball team had a big Senior Night win last Thursday against Tri High. JV had a big win in 3 sets!!

The Monroe Central Cross Country teams traveled to the South Adams Invitational Saturday morning. The girls team placed 4th in a stacked field with 107 points. They were led by freshmen Addison Coe and Katie Osborne. The boys teams placed 1st with 36 points and won the South Adams Invitational for the first time in school history! They were led by juniors Tucker Burris and Carter Miller! Special shoutout to Carter Miller for breaking the 17 minute barrier! The bears will travel to the New Haven Invitational next Saturday (9/26) at Huntington University!

The Golden Bear football team dropped its first game last Friday evening to South Adams. The Bears fought valiantly losing 31-14. The Bears had two turnovers putting the team at 3 through 3 games. Elijah Taylor was perfect on extra point kicks. The Bears play at Wes-Del this week for the Harvest Helmet Classic.

The MC Jr High Cross Country Teams ran against 13 teams at the South Adams Invitational on Saturday. The Boys’ team ran hard to come in 5th place and the Girls’ team came out in 8th place against some tough competition. Easton Foster lead the boys, positioning himself in 4th place early on and holding that place throughout the race with a time of 11:36. Lane Dance was less than 30 seconds behind, finishing in 13th place with his PR time of 12:00. Max Wagner had a season best time and Nick Hendrickson was able to come back after a foot injury to run a great race. Avery Thomas led the Lady Bears, coming in 28th place with a time of 14:18. Great job Bears!

The Girls’ Golf Team finished up their season at the Muncie Central Sectional at Crestview Golf Club on Saturday. Lydia Price shot her career best 18 holes. Brandy Jester also shot her best 18 holes and shot 98 breaking 100 for the first time. Bailey Jester shot 89, also a career best 9 holes and 18 holes, and just missed going to regionals by a couple of strokes. Great season girls!
