Daily Announcements 9/25/2023

The Radio Club will have their first meeting tonight from 5-7pm at the high school in room 106. The club will meet every 2nd and 4th Monday each month.

FCA will be having their See You at the Pole this Wednesday, September 27 at 7:30 a.m. Meet at the flagpole next to the football field to pray over the school! Bring your friends!

Any 7th or 8th grade student who is interested in being part of the 2023-24 MC Jr. High Robotics Team needs to complete the application form and submit by the end of the day on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. The form should be located in Schoology under Science.

The Monroe Central Scholarship Fund, Inc Sadie Hawkins/Halloween Dance will be Saturday, October 28th from 7 pm to 10 pm.  Crabtree Photography will be taking pictures.  To order pictures, pick up an order form in the front office or in Student Services or you can click on the link below to order online.

Interested in Archery Club? Please stop by the office and pick up a registration form with information about the season. Registration forms are due back to the office by October 6th.

The varsity volleyball team is hosting its annual Pink Out night against Lapel tonight. We will be honoring Mrs. Taylor. There will be a bake sale and basket giveaway with all proceeds going to Little Red Door. Come support a good cause and cheer on the lady bears!

NextGen Leadership Academy applications are available in student services! Students interested in joining the Randolph County leadership team that will enhance your leadership skills and your network with local leaders and peers should apply. Please stop in student services for the application. Applications are due to student services by Wednesday, September 27th.

The Senior Trip will be May 5th-7th, 2024 and we will be going to Cincinnati – including a day at Kings Island and 2 nights at Great Wolf Lodge.  Total cost for the trip is $300 and a $20 deposit is due to Ms. Summers by Wednesday, October 4th.  If you have any questions or need additional information see Ms. Summers, Grant Rees or Addison Coe.

School Picture Retake Day is scheduled for the morning of October 5th. If you are in need of retakes or missed the original picture day, please plan to have your photo taken on this date. Any questions may be directed to Mr. Sims.

After school help will be every Tuesday and Thursday. This is for all grades and all subjects. It will be held in room 118 for the next two weeks.

MCCTA is still selling beef sticks before school and after school in the junior high and high school hallways (outside room 110) and in Mrs. Van Pelt’s room.

The boys and girls cross country teams competed at the New Haven Invitational on Saturday. The boys team placed 3rd with Eli Chamberlain leading the bears placing 2nd with an impressive time of 16:52. Lane Dance, Zadok Lloyd, Jackson Wines, Nathan Daniels, Cory Brown, and Wyatt Daniels also tan well! The girls team placed an impressive 2nd place with Addison Coe placing 6th with a personal record of 20:15! Avery Thomas, Andi Watson, Katie Osborne, Gracie Baker, Mackenzie Pryor, and Addy Puckett also ran well! The bears will be in action again on Tuesday at Winchester for the Randolph County Championship starting at 6! 

The Golden Bear football team won Friday in the annual Harvest Helmet Classic. The Bear’s win marked the 11th consecutive victory in the Classic. The crowd was great and fun for all! This week the Bear’s travel to Eastern Hancock for a MEC match-up.
