Daily Announcements 04/23/2024

Prom bids are for sale during lunch until Friday, May 3rd. Couples are $50 and singles $30. Prom is on May 11th at the Wedding Factory in Albany. Grand March will be at 4pm in the high school gym.

The dress up days for Spring Spirit week (April 29 – May 3) is:

Monday: Monochromatic Monday (wear all the same color)

Tuesday: PJ Day

Wednesday: Wacky Wednesday

Thursday: Adam Sandler Day

Friday: Crazy Brown and Gold Day

JH & HS Cheerleading tryouts for current 6th-11th graders is Wednesday (4/24) and Thursday (4/25) beginning at 5:30PM in Hall Gym. These are clinic days to learn material. Saturday (4/27) at 10:00AM in Hall Gym is tryouts. The HS parent meeting is Wednesday at 7:00PM and the JH parent meeting is Thursday at 7:00PM. To register for tryouts please scan the QR code on the flier in the Elementary or HS offices.”

Help raise money for the 2024 MC 6K Water Project! Students in grades PK-12 will be competing in Money Wars where students may drop money in plastic containers during their lunch time. This will continue until Friday, April 26. The grade level that brings in the most money will earn a pizza party courtesy of the Farmland and Parker Fire Departments. Last year, there were two winning grade levels and those students chose to donate the pizza money back to World Vision in lieu of the pizza party.

There will be a high school dodgeball tourney on Friday May 3 in the afternoon. The sign up forms are on your class schoology page. The teams consist of 8 students with at least 3 girls. The teams do not all have to consist of students from the same grade. If you have questions, see  Addison Coe, Maggie Haney, or Katie Osborne.

After School Help is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 4pm.

The MCCTA (Mrs. Van Pelt) is selling granola bars, 2 bars for $1.

The boys golf team traveled to Winchester on Monday to take on Jay County and Winchester in a 3-way match. The Bears took 2nd place with a 172, losing by just 3 strokes to a tough Jay County team. Bentley Thornburg led the Bears and earned Low Medalist for the match with a 39! Cohen West followed with a 42 and Coltan West with a 44. Hayden Taylor and Rigley Braun both finished with 47’s. The Bears will travel to New Castle tomorrow to take on the Trojans and Richmond.

Monroe Central drops a non conference game against Jay County Monday night. Offense was led by Duncan, Foster, Pence, and Walker. MC is in action Tuesday against Conference foe Cowan.
