Announcing the Grand Opening of the Bear Mercantile! Purchase Monroe Central apparel with fresh new logos created by MC business students. Your support will fund project-based learning throughout the business department. Flyers with links and QR codes are located throughout the school and on the desk outside Mrs. Bootcheck’s room. Orders close next Tuesday, April 30th, so order soon!

Prom tickets are for sale during lunch until Friday, May 3rd. Couples are $50 and singles $30. Prom is on May 11th at the Wedding Factory in Albany. Grand March will be at 4pm in the high school gym.

There will be a high school dodgeball tourney on Friday May 3 in the afternoon. The sign up forms are on your class schoology page. The teams consist of 8 students with at least 3 girls. The teams do not all have to consist of students from the same grade. There is a separate google form for those who want to play and have no team or for those with a partial team. A team can be put together. If you have questions, see Addison Coe, Maggie Haney, or Katie Osborne.

The Golden Bears varsity track teams competed Wednesday night against Winchester and Tri. Both teams fought through cold temperatures to compete. Both teams are now 5-2 on the season. Team Scores:

Girls: Winchester – 64, MC – 48, Tri – 43

Boys: Winchester – 65.5, MC – 46.5, Tri – 40

Both teams compete again Friday Night 4/26 at the South Adams Invitational. An event which has been moved to Bluffton High School. Meet Start 5:30pm

The Jr High Track teams traveled to Daleville Wednesday evening for a 3 way meet against Daleville and Seton Catholic. Top performers were:

Kinlie Lester 1st in Long Jump, 2nd in 400, 3rd in 100

Oaklie Davis 1st in High Jump, 1st in Shot Put

The varsity softball team lost to Wes-Del 16-11 last night. The Bears had a great offensive night with every player getting at least one hit and a team high of 15 hits on the game. 7 of 9 players also added at least one RBI. The Bears held the Warriors scoreless in the last three innings coming back from a 16-0 deficit. The Bears will finish a game with Winchester Friday at home at 5:30p. 

The varsity boys golf team traveled to Westwood Golf Club to take on New Castle and Richmond in a 3-way match on Thursday. The Bears defeated Richmond but lost to New Castle in a close match finishing 2nd on the day. The Bears shot a 174 to New Castle’s 167. The Bears were led by Coltan West’s great play and score of 38. Cohen West finished with a solid round of 40. Bentley Thornburg finished with a 46. Others scoring in the 40’s were Maddox Taylor with a 49 and Gabe Rees with a 49 as well. The Bears will travel to Winchester for the Winchester Invite on Saturday.
